Stellar Jewels creatively uses many varieties including Nautilus, Spotted Cone, Purple Moonshell and exquisite Red Coral. Coral is taken from broken pieces found at the bottom of the ocean. No coral is taken from living organisms.

Oxybenzone and sunscreen pollution threatens coral reefs. 90 percent of the reefs in the Caribbean have disappeared since 1980. This matters not only for preserving reefs in areas that depend on tourism, but to prevent widespread coastal erosion.
Did you know that Hawaii recently passed bill that will potentially ban sunscreens with dangerous chemicals? NOAA states sunscreens that contain oxybenzone and octinoxate are indeed harmful to coral reefs. EHP as well confirms that sunscreen chemicals may be causing coral bleaching.
